The snow pack that feeds the Kern River has nearly doubled in the past week. The daily snow sensor report from the Department of Water Resources indicates Wet Meadows in the Sequoia National Forest now has 28 inches of snow/water equivalent when it only had 17 inches a week ago. All eight Kern River sensor stations are up significantly.
