Arvin petrol ordinance approved over objections

The Arvin Planning Commission has approved a new oil and gas ordinance over the objections of the industry and trade unions. Greenhouse Gas Engineer Astrid Acuna thinks it’s bad for the environment. Supporters say requiring oil companies to have more insurance and keeping wells 300 feet from schools and homes will help residents breathe easier, the City Council will vote on the proposal in July.
