Bakersfield has become her home. Born in Washington, Melissa Dignan moved to Temecula, CA during her elementary years, lived there through high school, and for her first job opportunity in media, reporting the weather for KZSW 27. Next, Melissa accepted a job in Bakersfield as morning weather anchor with KERO 23, working there from 2008-2011. During her years in Bakersfield, Melissa has connected well and learned to love many things about Kern County: the people, community events, live country music, dirt track races, drag races, rodeos, the Kern River, Lake Isabella, and fun in the sun (or snow) with her family and their border collie Shelby.
Melissa met her husband Brian in Kernville, they got married in 2011, and Melissa is thankful to have spent the last five years raising their three children, Riley Sierra, Kelly Isabella, and Shane Michael. Melissa joined KUZZ in September, 2017 and she is excited to be on the air with “Bakersfield’s Best County.”
