S&P Outlook on Kern County Turns Negative

Standard & Poors says it has a negative outlook on Kern County’s finances after supervisors declared a fiscal emergency last week.

The agency says it’s concerned about the county’s projected $27 million deficit this fiscal year.

On Monday, Moody’s said it was considering a credit rate downgrade for the county.
