Detectives are still interviewing witnesses after an officer-involved shooting left a man hospitalized.

It happened during a welfare check Sunday night in the parking lot of the Vintage Christian Center on Planz Road in southeast Bakersfield, after police say the man drove toward officers.

BPD says it will not release any new information on the incident until Tuesday.
