BAKERSFIELD RANKS HIGH ON WAGE STUDY

A new study says Bakersfield has one of the highest real minimum wages in the country.

Financial technology firm SmartAsset says every $10 a person makes translates to $9.37 in real wages, and Vice President AJ Smith thinks the recent increase in California’s minimum wage is why the city ranks number ten.

SmartAsset tracked the price of goods and services as well as home ownership rates and retirement savings to come up with their list.
