The Houchin Blood Bank is asking for donations for the victims of the Erskine Fire.However, it’s not because the victims need blood, it’s because they can’t donate. Tuesday’s blood drive in Lake Isabella had to be called off so Houchin is asking people in Bakersfield to go to donation centers on Truxton Avenue or Bolthouse Drive to give blood on behalf of donors in Lake Isabella. Otherwise, Houchin fears the loss of donations could cause a localized shortage.
