BAKO GET WATER REPORT

Bakersfield water conservation is ahead of target of nine percent. The Bakersfield Water Board heard a report indicating water consumption is 20.4 percent below 2013 levels for this past June and July. Wednesday’s report also says Lake Isabella and the Kern River are set up well for the remainder of the year, nothing like the dry conditions this time last year. Board Chairman Harold Hanson credits residents for keeping an eye on conservation and realizing the drought is not over. He said they will renew a cloud seeding contract for the mountains in the late fall but fears another dry winter like two years ago could cause problems for next year.
