Kern County’s unemployment rate saw an improvement.The decline of two-tenths of a percent comes despite the loss of 43 hundred government sector jobs. The construction industry along with trade and transportation lead gains locally. The rate of 10.6 unemployed in July is still far above the state rate of 5.5 percent.
