The men’s soccer team at Bakersfield College has taken the field for the first time in almost 30 years.

The squad is part of the Western State Conference Southern Division, and head coach Vayron [vy-ron] Martinez says the school decided to have a team again because men’s soccer classes were constantly full and also to serve Hispanic students on campus.

Their home opener against West Hills Lemoore ended in a 2-2 tie on Tuesday, their next home game is September 6th.
