A Kern County man has been convicted in federal court of being a felon in possession of explosives. 48-year-old Kenneth Kirkland of California City faces up to ten years when he’s sentenced in December. The bomb squad was called to his home last October and found detonators, dynamite, improvised explosive devices and a couple of assault rifles.
