Three Palmdale residents have been indicted by a Kern County grand jury in a Rosamond cold case from fifteen years ago. Cedric Sutton, Darnell Wheat and Dionna Williams were charged today [wed] with first-degree murder and gang participation in the death of 37-year-old Maria Cruz Pina who was kidnapped as she opened a McDonald’s for business in Rosamond in 2001. Sheriff’s investigators have been following leads until they were able to put enough together to present to the District Attorney who brought it to the Grand Jury.
