COUNTS COMING FOR UNDERREPRESENTED GROUP

Local immigration activists are partnering with the Public Health Department to reach out to an under-counted group in Kern County.

The California Rural Legal Assistance agency survey will identify social services for indigenous Mexican ag workers, and Director Marisa Lundin says the department will be getting information like where the group lives and what languages they speak.

CRLA hopes the County will eventually hire translators to help those people better integrate into society.
