The tallest building in Bakersfield has new owners and they intend to put some money into it. Jeff Andrew of Cushman and Wakefield brokered the sale of the twelve-story Stockdale Tower to a Beverly Hills-based partnership and says the purchase includes the four-story building next door and parking garage. The tower on California Avenue had been in bankruptcy until three years ago when it was picked up by an out-of-state investment group but Andrew says the new owners intend to upgrade the common areas like modernizing the gym and even get the fountain out front running again. The price tag is confidential but reportedly was just under $40 million.
