Downed power lines made it harder for firefighters to knock down a fire at an abandoned home in Arvin. Kern County Fire was called out to the house on Comanche Drive just south of Bear Mountain Boulevard Wednesday afternoon around 4:30 and found it being consumed by flames.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
