One of the new exhibits at this year’s Kern County Fair is an interactive zoo that features exotic animals. Curator Karla Majewski says the Egyptian Wildlife Exhibit will feature creatures like scorpions and reptiles, a monkey and an African Gray Parrot, and a Sphynx Cat that has no fur. The zoo exhibit is free for fairgoers. It also features an ongoing sand sculpture by a world renown artist. The Egyptian Wildlife Exhibit is a fully accredited zoo, the fair in Bakersfield marks just the second time the traveling zoo has appeared on the West Coast.
