New details on a officer involved shooting in Shafter show the suspect had rammed a police car. The incident at 1:45 Wednesday morning at the East Lerdo Hwy Fastrip followed a report of a naked man bathing in the windshield washer fluid.

Captain Jeff Bell says the suspect actually was wearing pants and had a knife at his waistband. Officers thought he was acting like he was under the influence. The man was shot in the hand after he jumped into an SUV and crashed into the cruiser.

His name has not been released.
