A Bakersfield Police spokesman says they are not ready to comment on claims by a disgraced, former detective that corruption exists within the department. Sgt. Gary Carruesco says Chief Greg Williamson is reviewing the 68-page letter-to-the-court that was filed Thursday by Damacio Diaz, who pleaded no contest to taking bribes and selling narcotics. Diaz was a high school runner who was on the team portrayed in the movie, MCFARLAND USA, he’ll be sentenced Monday.
