ATTORNEYS GET SAVED BY COUNTY

Supervisors have formally approved using money from the Community Corrections Partnership to pay for two prosecutors and a public defender that were cut from the budget. The Partnership determines which public safety agencies get state funds to deal with the surge of inmates sent back to counties by prison realignment, and Probation Chief TR Merickel said Tuesday the vote was unanimous.

The $1.24 million will fund the positions for three years.
