Felony charges are pending following the death of a man crossing Flower Street near Robinson Street in east Bakersfield. The CHP says alcohol may have been a factor around 7:30 Sunday night when a 53-year-old man was struck by a car driven by 35-year-old Mitchel Virgil. The victim’s name has not been released by the coroner.
