DON’T BUMPER BAMBI

Caltrans is reminding people who plan on driving in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Range that deer migration is underway. The agency says deer run in packs, so if a few cross the roadway more are likely to follow. The animals are most active at dawn and dusk, and a long blast of your car horn is best way to warn them if you think they might be nearby. They say deer whistles only work sometimes. Each year, more than 200 people are killed in animal collisions in the U.S. and 1.5 million animals die.
