HEPATITIS MAY BE IN SCHOOL SMOOTHIES

The Greenfield Union School District in Bakersfield says strawberries may be contaminated.The fruit was used to make smoothies for students and the district was told by a the supplier that they may have been contaminated with hepatitis A. The district announced Friday afternoon as many as 16 percent of students may have consumed the product but no illnesses have been reported. It can take several weeks for liver symptoms to appear. County Public Health says they are aware of the situation.
