The Bakersfield police bomb squad was called out shortly after the Veterans Day Parade.The squad showed up on 20th Street downtown when someone found a suspicious backpack. The area was cordoned off around 1:00 PM Friday and officers were able to determine it was not dangerous. Police say calling it in was the right thing to do because of the large crowd.
