POLITICOS PUT IN OVERTIME

State lawmakers from the Southern Valley are calling on Congress to delay new federal overtime rules. Senators Jean Fuller and Andy Vidak and Assembly members Shannon Grove and Devon Mathis oppose raising the overtime pay exemption from $23 thousand a year to over $47 thousand. They say that’s too high for low income areas like the Valley. The rules are made by the Labor Department, but Congress can reverse them.
