A man run over on Union Avenue near Columbus Street in central Bakersfield has been identified,The victim is 64-year-old Wilbert Ambeau. The Bakersfield resident died shortly after being hit by a car around sunset Monday night. Police say the driver didn’t see him walking on the side of the road until it was too late to stop, no charges are expected.
