WOMAN FACING CHARGES FOR IMMIGRATION SCAM

The Kern County District Attorney’s Office is looking for more victims of an immigration scam.

Alice Madera is charged with taking at least $30-thousand while pretending to be an immigration attorney, but Deputy D.A. Matthew Roberts says it’s been hard getting people to come forward, especially if their status is in question. Roberts says they know of at least eight people who were taken in.

Most of the cases Madera worked were in Los Angeles or San Francisco.
