The Kern County Superior Court is asking the Bakersfield City Council to remove the mid-block crosswalk on L Street between the courthouse and the jurors parking lot, saying it’s too dangerous. It came up at last week’s Planning Commission hearing.

Not everyone is on board with the idea: Chairwoman Barbara Lomas said her recent  jury duty has her thinking removal would cause too much congestion on Truxtun Avenue.

The City Council will take up the request at a future meeting.
