WATER FIX MIGHT REALLY BE IN

Legislation has been introduced in Congress to ease the water crisis in our state. The federal water bill includes components authored earlier this year by Senator Diane Feinstein to help water flow to cities and farms here. It also provides matching funds for storage projects where Prop 1A would pay the state’s contribution. Bakersfield Congressman Kevin McCarthy’s office says the bill is expected to pass the House and Senate as soon as Thursday, and could be signed shortly after. Proposed legislation and press conferences to fix California’s water crisis have been a constant over the past six years of the drought.
