A guard at the North Kern State Prison in Delano is recovering from an attack.It happened when an inmate approached him during the evening meal and began to fight. The officer, who was not identified, suffered a broken thumb in Monday’s incident when he punched the inmate in the face. 33-year-old Frankie Germany was unhurt but is facing charges of assault on a peace officer.
