The Kern County Parks and Recreation Department is about to move as its director spends his last week on the job. Bob LaRude retires Friday, and the agency will become a division of General Services on Monday.

The Parks staff is moving to the County Administrative Center on Truxtun Avenue but will keep their same hours and phone number.
