A large fire in a vacant duplex on N Street in central Bakersfield has arson investigators looking into how it started. Firefighters arrived just before 8:00 Wednesday morning to find heavy flames coming from the second story of the building, so they called in reinforcements. No one was injured and damage is estimated at $85 thousand. Vacant buildings have been burned as transients occupy them and start fires to keep warn. It’s not known yet if that was the case here.
