Kern County veterans and their families have paid tribute to those who died at Pearl Harbor 75 years ago Wednesday.

The annual Remembrance Day ceremony at Historic Union Cemetery in east Bakersfield featured songs, prayers, and the laying of a wreath by the widows and daughters of local vets who survived the attack. Attendees capped off the event by releasing balloons with “Remember Pearl Harbor” on them.
