The granddaughter of Cesar Chavez has been appointed as a State Director.She will be working for newly-elected U.S. Senator Kamala Harris. Julie Chavez Rodriguez is from Delano and has worked in leadership roles at the Cesar Chavez Foundation and has been an advisor to President Obama on immigration issues. She will oversee Harris’ office operations around the state.
