The Bakersfield office of the Highway Patrol has moved into their new building in Pumpkin Center.It’s located just off Highway 99 at Taft Highway. Monday’s official opening is long overdue as plans have been in the works to replace the old location on Buck Owens Boulevard for more than twenty years. However, not everything is perfect because the old location was in the exact center of their patrol region while the new building is ten miles to the south. There’s some concern response times to the more populated north area could be slower.
