Two new members have been sworn in on the Bakersfield City Council. Andrae Gonzales took the oath of office Wednesday night to represent Ward 2 while Jeff Tkac was sworn in for Ward 5. Mayor Harvey Hall presented Vice Mayor Harold Hanson with a Key to the City for the sixteen years he served on the council, Councilman Bob Smith was voted as the new Vice Mayor. It was the final meeting presided over by Mayor Hall as he is replaced by Karen Goh on January 3rd. His final words from dais were advice for the Mayor-elect as he said. “continue to build to make Bakersfield the best city in America.”
