The Sheriff’s Rural Crimes Task Force has been given an achievement award by the state Alcoholic Beverage Control. Sheriff Donny Youngblood told Supervisors Tuesday the group accomplished 150% of their goals last year for enforcing alcohol sales laws.

Budget cuts caused the Vice Unit to be dropped so Rural Crimes deputies took over alcohol enforcement, often conducting operations on their own free time.
