California Attorney General Kamala Harris is investigating Bakersfield Police and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office for police practices, accountability, excessive force, and serious misconduct.
She will also be reviewing officer-involved shootings and deaths in prison but did not mention any particular cases. The investigation comes after complaints from community groups and individuals.
