Bakersfield police are identifying the officer who shot a man as he got out of a car holding a rifle. Officer Christian Hernandez fired nine shots at 29-year-old Jose Vaca on Oswell Street the night of December 19th. Hernandez has been with the department three years and is on leave during the investigation, Vaca is recovering.
