The State Supreme Court has ruled insurance companies must replace homes destroyed by fire.The decision came after a lower court ruled the Insurance Commissioner did not have the authority to regulate that. Monday’s ruling is a victory for those who lost homes in wildfires, such as the Erksine Fire, believing they had replacement coverage only to be told they did not.
