President Trump’s decision to stop negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade deal is not sitting well with some local growers.

Kern County Farm Bureau Executive Director Beatrice Sanders says large scale producers of almonds and other non-perishables worry the move will make our products uncompetitive overseas. The farmers hope Trump has a backup plan to make Kern County goods less expensive in Pacific Rim markets.
