The Sheriff’s Bomb Squad has neutralized the package that triggered a lockdown of Sierra Middle School in east Bakersfield Tuesday afternoon. A landlord found the possible explosive when cleaning out a former tenant’s unit at the complex on Plaza and Center streets.

The lockdown mostly affected kids in after school programs.
