Fire engines have responded to another vacant house burning, this time on Monterey Street.The fire happened on Monterey Street at Alta Vista Drive in east Bakersfield. Sunday morning’s fire caused about $50 thousand damage to the building and crews were able to protect surrounding homes from the flames. It’s uncertain what caused this latest in a string of vacant house fires.
