California Attorney General Xavier Becerra is vowing to shield local residents from any future federal immigration bans, regardless of their status.

Becerra spoke at the United Farm Workers headquarters in downtown Bakersfield on Tuesday, but insists he is not trying to make law enforcement’s job harder.

He is on a tour of the Central Valley to work with agencies on how to legally cooperate with federal immigration agents.
