Bakersfield Assemblyman Rudy Salas is working to formulate state regulations for legalized marijuana.The beginning stages of rules are being made just as Kern County leaders are doing the same. Salas says Tuesday’s hearing in Sacramento discussed many of the issues that Supervisors were hearing about in Bakersfield. Of particular interest is how pot can be kept out of the hands of children and how to prevent sellers from packaging and marketing in ways attractive to kids. Salas is chairman of the Business and Professions Committee, which will craft rules this year to regulate recreational marijuana production and sales.
