Firefighters are investigating an early morning fire at a house on Mandoline Avenue near Hughes Lane in south Bakersfield.

The flames were reported just before 4:00a.m. Monday, forcing four people and two dogs out of the home. A man has reportedly been treated for minor smoke inhalation after going back inside to try and save one of the pups.
