A Girl Scout presented the Sheriff’s Department with comfort blankets and stuffed animals. Shelby Perlis of Bakersfield handed over the donation Thursday at the Sheriff’s headquarters as part of her Gold Award project for the scouts. Her Comfort for Kids items will be used by deputies who encounter children facing traumatic situations such as domestic violence.
