MEMORIAL HOSPITAL HOLDS HUMAN TRAFFICKING TRAINING

Memorial Hospital in central Bakersfield has held a training session to help its employees spot victims of human trafficking.

Emergency Services nurse Jenny Wilson says Thursday’s seminar is important because healthcare workers are often the first line of defense, especially when women come to the hospital to deliver a baby. Wilson says the biggest red flag is a man who answers questions for a woman.

55 victims were trafficked through Kern County last year.
