ROSAMOND MAN TO PRISON FOR SHOOTING AT DEPUTY

A Rosamond man who threatened and then shot at a Sheriff’s detective who was trying to arrest him has been sentenced to 44 years to life in prison.

Lawyers for Luis Macias claimed that he did not intend to fire on any of the deputies who showed up at his mobile home on Hamilton Road two years ago, but prosecutor Hunter Starr says he threatened, tracked, then shot at deputies.

Macias had been wanted on several warrants.
