SPEED, LIGHTS TO BLAME FOR FATAL CRASH?

Speed appears to have been a major factor in the crash that killed three people at the intersection of Panama Lane and Comanche Drive, southeast of Bakersfield.

CHP Officer Vaughn Cain says 32-year-old Frankie Vega of Bakersfield slammed into a car after blowing through a stop sign in his pickup truck just before midnight Thursday.

37-year-old Antonio Pantoja and 46-year-old Teresa Chavolla of Arvin died at the scene when the truck hit their traveling Mercedes.
