Kern County Fire is investigating an incident Saturday night where flames heavily damaged a vacant apartment on Madre Street in Golden Hills.

Two rooms of the five-unit complex were burning when crews got there Saturday night around 8:40, and two other apartments were threatened. Damage is estimated at $60,000.
